How to stop skyrim from downloading workshop mods

The short answer is: no. There is no Workshop Support for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. So no wonder there's no download. On the other hand The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has Workshop Support, but I don't recommend using it, because it's the "casual" way to install mods and you have zero control over: What it installs. Any author released updates will automatically be downloaded the next time you start Skyrim. If you're currently playing Skyrim you'll need to restart the game before you'll be able to use any newly subscribed workshop mods. If you'd like to delete and unsubscribe from a workshop mod you can do so by visiting your subscriptions list.  · The best way to solve your problem is to unsubscribe from the Mods. In this way, Skyrim Launcher will no longer download them automatically. To unsubscribe them, you needs to go to 'Data Files' on your launcher, then click on Skyrim Workshop and login to the Workshop. From there, you should see your display pic at the right hand bltadwin.rus: 2.

Alternatively you can click the button on the top left of the screen that says 'download (manual)'. Find the Skyrim Data folder. Mods status bar only appears in Big Picture Mode - For some reason, Steam changed the default behavior, so in the latest versions mod updates will download silently in the background, so you can no longer track their progress. If this scenario is applicable, you can verify if the mods are actually downloading by switching to Big Picture Mode.

To get the Workshop mod on the NMM, find the Skyrim data folder, place all the files associated with the mod into a zipped folder, click "Add Mod from File" (the puzzle icon with a plus), find the zip file in the Data folder and click Add. (So far just SMIM and "Relighting Skyrim") Only, steam never downloaded anything, there is no downloads in my "downloads" tab on the steam workshop. The "mods" folder in the Skyrim folder is empty other than the "skyrim patch" mod I downloaded directly from the in game Skyrim mods section. For Skyrim SE use Nexus for Mods (for that matter use it for regular Skyrim as well). There are 3 or 4 Bethesda Mods that I like and always use and I dl them right from the SSE start up menu (Creation Club is also right there). That being said, use Nexus for the best selection of Mods, there's a ton of them there.
